Both
Challenger and Access dinghies have active Class Accociations. They
run a series of open meetings at sailing clubs around the UK between
Spring and Autum.
In
addition to competing at our own open, our sailors are encouraged
to attend other meetings. We provide logistical support to transport
boats to the venue and helpers to rig the boats, launch and recover.
Members
are also encouraged to take part in Club racing on Wednesday evenings.
Please
see the race reports for to see how we got on!
Sailability Racing News
The Challenger season started well with the Burghfield Open in April and we were blessed with good weather and plenty of wind. Our Challenger sailors did well and it was good to see Dani taking part in her first Challenger Open – well done and watch out boys, there’s a new girl in town.
At the Challenger Open in Oxford, in adverse weather conditions, Dave Vickery was involved in a collision and received serious injuries which have kept him from sailing for the rest of the season. We are pleased to say he is now recovered and we look forward to seeing him back sailing again in 2010.
Unfortunately none of our sailors took part in any of the other events include the multi-hull series at Rutland in August. However, the Burghfield Boys went along to offer their help and support and can report that our Burghfield sailors were missed by the Challenger sailors and their families – they look forward to seeing you all at the 2010 events.
